Our Purpose
Dirty Sunbeams is a not-for-profit music web site. We have two aims:
- Showcase independent music in the Calder Valley and surrounding areas.
- Help young adults develop media and content creation skills in a friendly, fun, non-pressured environment.

We are friendly and inclusive. Everyone is welcome. No egos.
We strive to add value in all that we do.
Our Name
We wanted a memorable name that loosely symbolised the emerging talent in the area – the ‘rough gems’. After spending far too long considering far too many options we settled on ‘Dirty Sunbeams’, which is also, by chance, a fair summation of the local climate.
Oh, and Johnny Marr liked it (Fact!) So that settled it.
